Fani-Kayode can go home if he has N250m

A Federal High Court in Lagos has ruled that former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode can go home after over 50 days in detention if he has N250 million and 2 other sureties of the same amount.

Fani-Kayode was charged to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for his role in an alleged fraud of N4.9bn.

Justice Muslim Hassan, the presiding judge asked Fani-Kayode to submit his passport to the court pending the outcome of the case.

Fani-Kayode is also to produce 2 sureties worth N250 million if he is to go home from EFCC custody.

The sureties, the court said, must be owners of landed properties within the court’s jurisdiction.

He is also to present evidence of tax clearance in the state.

Also admitted to bail in the same conditions were a former Minister of State for Finance, Nemandi Usman, and one Danjuma Yusuf, who are standing trial alongside Fani-Kayode.
