Fani-Kayode preaches against dialogue with Boko Haram

by Isi Esene

The former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has gone spiritually ballistic on the Boko Haram radical sect.

He was reacting to news that reported the dreaded Islamic sect claiming responsibility for the attacks on Christians in Plateau State over the weekend, most of who were women and children.

Fani-Kayode fumed, “We are slow to anger but irresistible in battle. The blood of the saints shall be avenged by the living God.”

Fani-Kayode, who had always canvassed for a military bombardment of the sect’s hideout, is vehemently opposed to the strategy of dialogue obviously favoured by the President Jonathan administration.

‘You do not negotiate with terrorists,” he said. “They should be given the ‘Odi’ treatment.”

“I think the idea of dialogue is absurd, infantile and shortsighted,” he said. “You do not dialogue with someone who is determined to kill you.”

Reacting to the statement credited to Abu Qaqa, the Boko Haram spokesman, that Christians should “accept Islam or they will never have peace,” the ex-minister said, “We cannot all be intimidated into a gutless cowering silence… The more the bloodshed, the more our faith in God is strengthened.”

He warned them not mistake the peace exhibited by Christians as cowardice.

Once again, Femi Fani-Kayode, as he is wont to do, has left no one in doubt as to where he stands.
