Fashionistas set to fight Breast and Cervical Cancer at fundraising event!

by Yemi Olowu

The benefit fashion show and fundraiser will take place on Friday 23 December 2011 at the Four Points Hotel Oniru. It is aimed at increasing awareness and raising funds to help curb the spread of both breast and cervical cancer.

Tagged Fashion Fantasia! the event is set up by Leading Ladies Nigeria; an organisation that works with women particularly those in Sub-Saharan Africa assisting them in achieving their set goals and dreams in life. In January this year, the organisation successfully facilitated the ‘Dare to Dream’ mentoring and capacity building seminar for young women which had as speakers: Funmi Omitowoju, Former COO UBA Prestige, Bukky George, MD CEO HealthPlus Pharmacy and CasaBella International Limited, and Lisa Folawiyo, Creative Head Jewel By Lisa.

This Christmas, Leading Ladies will join forces with Bloom Cancer care, to establish an interactive session/presentation that provides additional information on breast and cervical cancer. Because awareness should be translated into action, there will be a fundraising program at the event to raise money for 100 women who will benefit from free breast/cervical screening.

The event will also feature exciting and breathtaking designs from Marayah O, Ahdookeh, O’Eclat, Prisicilla Suchi Best of Suchille Clothings: exciting musical performances from multi talented artistes, a presentation from the Bloom Cancer Care, spotlight on cancer survivors and lots more. Fashion Fantasia!  is proudly supported by Polo, Nutricima, O’eclat, Zaron, Bloom Cancer care, Brief Essentials, Ahdookeh and Suchille Clothings. Media partners: Bella Naija, Onobello.com, and Y!.
