Atiku’s daughter becomes Commissioner, forfeits salary

One of the daughters of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has been appointed a Commissioner in Adamawa state.

Fatima Atiku was announced as the Adamawa Commissioner of Health on Friday, August 28.

After her swearing-in on Friday, she announced the forfeiture of her salary and allowances.

Fatima said she was making the sacrifice because of the numerous challenges in the health sector.

“I am very grateful to the governor for appointing me to head the Health Ministry.

“The ministry is the most challenging because of the insurgency problem that had caused some damage to the health system in the state.

“For this reason, I shall be donating my salary and allowances for use in enhancing the delivery of healthcare service in the state.”
