Fayose cancels appointment of 400 staff of Ekiti University

Governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose, has cancelled the recent employment of 400 persons employed by the Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado Ekiti.

In a statement issued on Tuesday in Ado Ekiti, the state capital by chief press secretary to the governor, Idowu Adelusi, Fayose said the employment was marred by irregularities.

Adelusi said the university failed to advertise the vacant positions, thereby disallowing competition.

“The awkward manner the recruitment was carried out did not enable qualified persons who are jobless to freely seek employment,” he said.

Some members of the school management were accused of employing their relatives. He added that employment should be free, fair and transparent.
