That hot new breed of troublemakers called social media activists have been making life unberable for information minister, Labaran Maku, and he just can’t take it anymore!

Speaking through his press secretary, Joseph Mutah, yesterday, he spoke against those who use social media platforms to ‘slander’ the government, as he responded to a publication on an online platform. According to him, the report claimed the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, is interfering with appointments into his ministry and its parastatals.

“It is absolutely false the report which attempted to connect the First Lady, Dame Dr. Patience Goodluck Jonathan to issues of appointment in the Federal Ministry of Information,” he said. “The report is false and malicious”. He also “urged those peddling this slander and similar slanders in the social media to search their conscience and redeem themselves from the path of destruction they have subjected our society to.”

According to him, this report is part of “a cocktail of lies and the handiwork of vicious characters that specialise in tarnishing the good reputation of decent people and leaders in the society”.

Then he delivered the clincher:

“They offer fiction and slander freely to the public without conscience. They neither respect the laws of the land nor fear God. They continue to destroy the well-earned reputation of worthy citizens and leaders for selfish reasons.

“They should leave this ignoble task and embrace God and decency for the good of themselves and the society.”

Guys, leave those handles alone. It’s time to embrace God.
