FG declares May 30 public holiday

The federal government, through the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd), on Wednesday announced that Monday, May 30, 2016, will be a public holiday to celebrate the 2016 Democracy Day.

Dambazzau made the announcement in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Bassey Akpanyung.

He said: “Dambazau congratulates Nigerians on the attainment of one year in office of President Muhammadu Buhari and enjoined all to continue to support the President in his sustained effort in building a peaceful, enduring and democratic legacy.

“The minister wishes all Nigerians a happy Democracy Day celebration.”
