FG plotting to stall Nnamdi Kanu’s trial – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) says it has uncovered a plot by the Federal Government to stall the trial of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

IPOB said the government is perfecting plans to blackmail Justice Binta Nyako to be absent from the trial by feigning illness.

IPOB, in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Mr. Emma Powerful, said, “Information reaching our desk, and confirmed by our intelligence unit, revealed that pressure has been mounted on Justice Binta Nyako to feign illness and not attend the hearing in the case involving the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

“This was the same delay tactics used to pressure judges in the past to deliver illegal rulings in favour of the Department of State Services, DSS. Despite the fact that the focus of the world is on the Nigerian judicial system, the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government is bent on perverting the course of justice again.

“The world is hereby put on notice that Justice Binta Nyako is in danger of being blackmailed by the APC Federal Government that has threatened to re-open corruption charges against her husband, former Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, if she appears in court today.

“Justice Nyako was sighted on Friday, November 4, in good health. If she fails to turn up to preside over the hearing today, the world should know that the APC-led Federal Government of President Muhammadu Buhari has succeeded, through their DSS, to intimidate the woman the way they intimidated John Tsoho, the previous judge.”
