The Lagos state Ministry of Commerce and Industry, at the state secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, was gutted by fire on Saturday, September 19.
The fire, which destroyed a section of the third floor of the ministry building, occurred around 1pm.
It was revealed by a top government official, that at least four offices were destroyed by the inferno.
The official was quoted to have said: “Were it not the nearness of the Alausa fire station to the secretariat with 10,000 litres of water to quell the fire, it would have consumed the entire building. No casualty was recorded in the fire incident.”
