Few hours ago, news hit the airwaves that controversial OAP Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Freeze, has been fired from his job at Cool FM.
The sack was said to have come as a result of an Instagram post he put up on Friday showing him cuddled up with comedian, Basketmouth’s wife, Elsie – who he described as a family friend.
His followers on social media had seen the post as a ‘sub’ at Basketmouth following their long-running feud, and his friend, Bovi’s subliminal Instagram post at Freeze, a day earlier.
So instead of Basketmouth going for a public outburst, he allegedly went to Freeze’s bosses at Cool FM who then took the decision to let go of the mouthy media personality.
This story however did not go down well with Freeze who acknowledged that he indeed has issues with his employers, but it is not in any way linked to his feud with Basketmouth.
A furious Freeze made this known in an Instagram post where he also threatened to take legal action against Miss Petite blog which came up with the news.
The story did not end there though; an internal memo allegedly circulated at Cool FM informing Freeze’s colleagues of his immediate sack has been made public through the SDK blog.
In the memo, the embattled OAP’s ‘Exit Date’ was put at August 26, 2016 leading many to wonder how grievous his issues with his employers were, and why he had to be let off in such manner.
Calls to Freeze’s colleagues at AIM Consultants Limited, owners of Cool FM, Wazobia FM, and Nigeria Info, has yielded little as to the exact reason why the watch-loving OAP was sacked. Freeze joined Cool FM in 2001 after leaving his job at Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS).
Owned by Amin Mousalli, AIM Group is a conglomerate that is into construction, engineering design, communications and more.
We shall bring you updates as we get them.
