Fuel queues return to Port Harcourt as tanker drivers go on strike

by Tony Tamuno

Tanker drivers have gone on strike in Rivers state causing a scarcity of petroleum products that has seen long queues return to petrol stations across Port Harcourt.

Meanwhile, a member of the tanker drivers’ branch of NUPENG told YNaija that the strike was to bring the government’s attention to the poor conditions of some roads in the zone.

The refinery, Eleme and the Umuahia-Okigwe roads are some of the link roads in very bad conditions that the group are asking the government to fix.

He said that the roads cause break downs and accidents that have claimed the lives of their drivers.
