Fuel Subsidy Fraud: Olabisi, Jeldi, Nworgu declared wanted by the EFCC

The Economic & Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday declared three oil marketers wanted. The oil marketers were accused of obtaining billions of naira of the fuel subsidy funds from the federal government under false pretence.

The marketers are Abdul Afeez Olarenwaju Olabisi, Fago Petroleum and Gas Ltd.; Abubakar Ali Jeldi, Managing Director of Nadabo Energy Ltd.; and Ikechukwu Onuabuchi Nworgu, Star Inspection Services Nigeria Limited.

Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said in a statement that the marketers are wanted for various financial offenses ranging from criminal conspiracy, forgery, obtaining money by false pretenses, and money laundering running into several billions of naira.

Uwujaren gave the details of the wanted men as:

“Olabisi, 31, is from Kwara State and speaks Yoruba, Hausa and English languages fluently. His last known address is Fago Petroleum and Gas Ltd.

“Jeldi, 34, is of the Igala stock from Kogi State, North Central Nigeria. He speaks his native Igala, Hausa and English languages fluently. His last known addresses are 4B, Louis Solomon Close, Victoria Island, Lagos and 15 Ogbunike Street, Lekki, Lagos.

“Nworgu, 46, is from Abia State. He speaks Igbo and English fluently. His last known address is Star Inspection Services Nigeria Ltd., 4A, Lander Close, off Liverpool Road, Apapa, Lagos.”

The EFCC had in July released the first batch of names of alleged fraudulent oil marketers who were said to have received funds from the Federal Government under false pretense, the companies were: Nasaman Oil Services; Eternal Oil and Gas Plc; Ontario Oil & Gas Plc; Nadabo Energy Limited; Pacific Silver Line Limited; Axenergy Limited, and Fago Petroleum and Gas Limited.

Uwujaren urged members of the public to report any information that might lead to the arrest of these wanted individuals to report at any of the police zonal offices in Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt and Abuja or do same at the nearest police station.
