Fulani herdsmen regroup for another attack on Enugu

There are indications that Fulani herdsmen have allegedly regrouped in bushes near Iga community for further attacks and destruction.

Iga is in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State that was attacked last week Monday by blood thirsty Fulani herdsmen.

According to a source, who spoke to Vanguard on the condition of anonymity, the high casualty recorded by last week’s attack and the inaction of relevant authorities had further emboldened the herdsmen to return for another attack.

Meanwhile, a possible ethnic clash is brewing in Adani community in the same violence torn Uzo-Uwani local government area of Enugu state, as natives of the community are united in pushing out, the large Hausa community living in the community over fears of a possible attack.

Vanguard also reports that Adani community is densely populated by Hausa families, who had bought and built properties and also developed a thriving Hausa settlement in Adani.

However, following last week’s bloody attack at Nimbo community, the natives of Adani are in perpetual fear of an attack and are committed to drive the Hausa community out, thus causing palpable tensions in the area.
