Gay marriage is evil – Pastor Adeboye

Foremost cleric, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has condemned same sex marriage that has been made legitimate in some countries, saying such should not be introduced in Nigeria.

Pastor Adeboye, who is General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), described same sex marriage as anathema to God’s will and instruction, saying the will of God for human beings is to be fruitful, replenish and multiply on earth, and anything contrary to that is devilish.

The renowned Christian cleric who spoke at the New Year thanksgiving organized by the Joint Christian Mission of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, said same sex marriage was capable of wiping out human race within just 20 years of its practice.

He said, “How can a man who marries a fellow man produce a child? And how can a woman who marries a woman produce a child? If this evil is allowed to stay, there will not be new born babies again in the world.

“As the older generation dies, would there be new generation to succeed? Even plants and animals have new generation to succeed them.”

Adeboye therefore called on those who indulge in the  sacrilegious act to repent and turn to God, stressing that “like poles repel, while unlike poles attract.”

While praying for peace and stability of the country, Adeboye enjoined all Nigerians to walk in the ways of God this year and shun all evil acts which may attract the wrath of God on the nation.

He also urged the people to walk in the light of God and forsake acts that are traceable to darkness, saying “darkness is bad, it is evil. It produces poverty, hatred, sorrow, bareness and loneliness.”

  1. When I was swimming in fornication and adultery, I never tried to get anyone to accept my lifestyle as normal. I knew it was sin and I tried to hide it. I tried to make excuses for it. Deliverance did not come until I finally confessed my sin to GOD and asked HIM in JESUS' name to deliver me from being an adulteress. No I did not see a perfect change right away but I knew I was forgiven and I knew I needed to set up some boundaries to resist the devil and flee from any situation that would entice me into sin. I had to stay away from certain people. I could not watch certain things on TV. I could not listen to worldly music. To this very day, over 10 years later, I still have to walk carefully. Our eyes, our ears, our thoughts, can lead us to sin if we entertain them. Males that are attracted to males and females that are attracted to females, don't feed your flesh. Run as fast as you can away from anything to fuels the desire. Don't date. Stay single and celibate until GOD though HIS HOLY SPIRIT delivers you from the bondage of the enemy. I know it's a struggle. Having been an adulteress for years was a struggle. The struggle will never be over until JESUS' returns. Please set up gates and boundaries in your life. The scriptures tell us to RESIST the devil and submit to GOD. Ask GOD to run interference against those temptations. I know getting free from sin isn't easy; it's a constant struggle. If you're not dealing with sexual sin, then it may be the sin of a bad tempter, lying, not loving others, not forgiving others, being selfish……the battle goes on and on. We must continue to pray for one another and ourselves and believe for the deliverance from our LORD JESUS.
