What was GEJ doing behind closed doors with Modu Sherriff?

by Laila Ibrahim

President Goodluck Jonathan and former Borno state Governor Ali Modu Sherriff, on Monday met behind closed doors at the Presidential villa Abuja.

Their meeting may not be unconnected with the cease fire agreement reached with the Boko Haram sect.

The Federal Government had last week signed a ceasefire agreement with the Islamic sect in Saudi Arabia.

As part of the ceasefire deal, the sect were said to have agreed to free the Chibok School girls who have been their captives for over six months now.

According to reports the girls were to have been released on Monday.

On emerging from the meeting however, the former governor, refused to speak to journalists who approached him.
