GEJ declaration: Police to close major routes in Abuja on Tuesday

Motorists in Abuja will have an hectic time navigating their way around the city tomorrow, November 11, 2014 as President Goodluck Jonathan gets set to declare his intention to run in next year’s presidential election.

In a press statement released by the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, motorists are advised to use alternative routes as vehicular traffic will be diverted from most of the roads leading in and out of Eagle Square Central Business District, Abuja between 5am and 8pm.

According to Emmanuel Njoku, the police spokesperson, this is just one measure put in place to avoid a break down of law and order in the area and Abuja at large.

This is to alert the public of a major event taking place at Eagle Square Abuja tomorrow Tuesday, 11th November, 2014.

Members of the public are advised to use alternative routes, as vehiculartraffic will be diverted from most of the roads leading in and out of Eagle Square Central Business District, Abuja between 0500am and 0800pm ofTuesday, 11th November, 2014.

The Nigeria Police Force regrets any inconvenience the diversion of vehicular movements within the area may cause members of the public, asthis is one of the proactive security measures put in place to avoid breakdown of law and order in the area and Abuja at large.

President Jonathan has been selected as the sole candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in next year’s election.
