Wait, did GEJ really write this letter? (LOOK)

It’s crunch time in the 2015 elections, any tactics whatsoever will be employed to sway voters.

On Thursday, March 26, a letter said to have been written by President Goodluck Jonathan to Nigerian citizens of northern origin surfaced in media circles.

The letter was written in two languages; Hausa and English.

In the letter dated ‘Monday, March 23’, the President pleaded with his ‘Arewa brothers and sisters’ to disregard whatever they must have heard about him and vote for him in the presidential election.

Jonathan highlighted some of the things he has done for the region since becoming President, while also making an appeal over the unfortunate issue of Boko Haram and the abducted Chibok girls.

In essence, the aim of the letter was to say: ‘I’m sorry for all my actions and inaction which I know has offended you and I’d like you to forgive me and vote for me’.
