#GhanaDecides: PPP candidate congratulates Nana Akufo-Addo on his ‘victory’

Candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) in the Ghana Presidential election, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has congratulated Nana Akuffo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party for his impending victory at the polls.

Another candidate, Edward Mahama had earlier conceded defeat to Akuffo-Addo.

Dr Nduom in a message on Facebook thanked his supporters and accepted the decision on behalf of his party.

“I wish to congratulate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the NPP for winning the 2016 presidential election based on results available to me. The wind of change has blown in his favour. The NPP worked hard for this victory. I accept the decision of the people on behalf of the PPP. We must all now work hard to make our country great and strong and the people prosperous.” he said

The campaign team of Akufo-Addo had earlier said with 80% of valid votes counted,  they were leading by 54%, stating that Mahama has 43%.
