CodRead was born in Lagos but in 2005 he left Nigeria to pursue a modelling career. He had started to make music earlier, in 1999 under the pseudonym Boldman and then as part of a group known as Beat Block Boys.

The artiste was nominated at the last Nigeria Music Video Awards for his video ‘Patricia’ ft Buffalo Souljah. He is signed to 107 Records, and is set to release his self titled debut album which will feature Maye Hunta, Buffalo Souljah, Danny Boy and Terry G.

CodRead, who is known by fans as ‘Hotter than fire’, has performed in Johannesburg, Namibia and many other African countries alongside Africa’s best – Jozi, MXO, HHP, Lira, Naeto C, Teargas, Sasha, liqui dip, Buffalo Souljah, Proverb, Jah Seed and Taygrin. His music is a fusion of Jamaican reggae/dance-hall and afro-pop.
