An overweight American woman has decided to make a statement by stripping to a bikini and walking down a busy road.

Los Angeles resident, Amani Terrell decided to parade her body, which many viewed as not so perfect, to protest against Hollywood’s obsession with perfection.

She did it to show women that the most important attribute to have is a healthy self esteem.

Amani took a walk down Hollywood Boulevard and received a wide variety of responses, some not so favourable.

She said:

“You can not seek validation from other people. This world is very cruel. You must seek validation within yourself and be kind to yourself.”
