Gov. Dickson ‘orders arrest’ of opposition loyalist over Facebook comments

Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson on Wednesday allegedly ordered the arrest of a loyalist of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jonah Okah over criticism against him.

According to SaharaReporters, Okah had made a comment on Facebook on the arrest of Chief Accountant of the Bayelsa State government, Richie Etonye and also criticized the governor.

APC governorship candidate Timipre Sylva’s media adviser, Doifie Buokoribo said he received a text message from Okah which read, “I have just been picked up by the police from the office of the Commissioner of Police from the Bayelsa State Command on the order suspected to be from the Bayelsa State Government. I’m being taken to SCID led by one SP Ani.”

Bayelsa State Police Command spokesman, Asinim Butswat said he was unaware of the arrest but promised to look into it.
