Plateau State governor, Jonah Jang has said that based on security reports made available to him, the state may come under attack during the Christmas celebrations.

Jang disclosed this at the 2013 harvest and thanksgiving service of the Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN) headquarters church, in Jos on Sunday.

He said if the reports are anything to go by, then the current efforts by the people of the state to sustain the peace they now enjoy may be truncated.

According to reports:

He called on the people of the state to protect the hard earned peace the state has been experiencing in the last couple of months.

The governor stated that the people as well as security outfits must be on the watch out for strange faces and report same to the security agencies.  He said that he was sure God would continue to expose those that have risen against the state thereby slowing down its progress.

He called on the people of the state to be watchful at all times as the enemies of the state will stop at nothing to pull down the foundation that has been laid. He was however optimistic that God will vindicate the state while using the occasion to dispel rumours that he may have anointed someone to succeed him when his tenure ends in 2015.

He said just as the church recently held its election with no one knowing who was going to emerge president of the Church, he has been praying to God to help the state choose the right person to succeed him. He urged the people of the state to join other men and women of goodwill to pray so that God will give the direction for the right candidate to be chosen.

The governor  congratulated the president elect of the church, Rev Dr Dachollom Datiri on his election and charged the new president to build on what has been started by Rev Dr Dachollom Datiri who is retiring January 2014.
