Grace Efezokhae: Who says being a Christian means you should not be romantic? (Y! Superblogger)

Who says being a Christian doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be romantic? Haven’t you read the Book of Songs of Solomon before?

Many times I am not happy when people see practicing Christians as being boring set of people. I love Jesus a lot and I don’t get it when people try to live the “Jesus kind of life” shabbily. Aside from living holy and exhibiting godly conducts, I have my personal reservations with which some people try to live this kind of life.

Being a Christian doesn’t mean you shouldn’t look good and smart.  Wearing a big shirt, trousers with larger than life flaps and a cutlass size tie doesn’t make you look like Jesus. Neither is it when you dress like a fireman with red suit, yellow oversized trousers and purple shoes that make you look spiritual. These are the same set of people who will go about shouting “it’s not about the container but the content” (whatagwan). It is the container that one sees before he gets to see the content. Biko, look good. That’s why people go for the bad boys. It’s all about packaging. Looking good is not a determinant of your financial budget.

Even for the ladies, all in the name of living godly lives should you now decide to look shabby. Wearing long flowing skirt across the streets that sways with the wind and oversized blouses doesn’t make you any holier. Please, dress well and look good. I see some Christian ladies rubbing Vaseline on their faces and leaving their hair unkempt. Whether you are on #Teamnaturalhair, #Teamrelaxedhair or #Teamlowcut, it doesn’t matter. Take care of that hair. Dressing well and looking neat does not make you carnal. Between, because another lady doesn’t dress like you doesn’t make you holier than her.

MODERATION SHOULD HOWEVER BE THE WATCHWORD

Who says being a Christian means you shouldn’t be romantic? Haven’t you read the Book of Songs of Solomon before? I saw the picture of a Christian wedding recently and the couple could still not gum their body and kiss themselves on their wedding day. Who said kissing your bride is carnal?

Albeit, God says we are the light of the world, let’s keep shining. Look good to glorify the Name of the Lord.

#TeamJesus #TeamLookinggood all the way.

Have a wonderful week ahead.
