The new BoT Chairman of PDP is not President Jonathan

by James Sambo

The speculations that President Goodluck Jonathan may take over as the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, turned out to be wrong.

Instead, a former Minister of Defence, Dr. Haliru Bello, has emerged as the acting Chairman of the BoT of the party.

Bello replaces Tony Anenih who resigned last week.

The decision to make Bello the acting chairman of the PDP BOT was taken at a meeting held inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday, May 25.

Bello was reportedly the only person nominated during the meeting, which was presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan.
Also present at the meeting were Vice President Namadi Sambo; President of the Senate, David Mark; and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, the BoT secretary, Walide Jubril; Mrs. Josephine Anenih, Dr. Haliru Bello, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, Ibrahim Mantu, Prof. Jerry Gana, and Senator Hope Uzodinma among others.
