It has been over three years since Rihanna was beaten to a pulp by her on again, off again boyfriend, Chris Brown. But Rihanna is sure that this time around things will be different. Rihanna opened up to Rolling Stone’scontributing editor, Josh Eells, about the current state of her and Chris Brown’s relationship.

Of her and Brown’s relationship, she told Eells, “I decided it was more important for me to be happy,” “I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”

Rihanna knows that the warped relationship that she has with Chris Brown is not cookie cutter.

“When you add up the pieces from the outside, it’s not the cutest puzzle in the world,” “You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments anymore.”“We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that.”

It is evident, through social media, that the Barbados beauty is once again head over heels in love with Brown. She publicly fought for his affection through her rants about him being with his ex, Karrueche. One post on twitter read “How can you lie with her while you lay with me?….If you don’t have an answer, you don’t have to answer.”

Although she wants the public to let her live and make her own mistakes, Rihanna has made it perfectly clear that she will not take any mess from Brown. “He doesn’t have the luxury of f#^#@** up again. That’s just not an option. I can’t say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in the knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.”

The Rolling Stone issue hits stands January 31st.

  1. Not letting people’s opinion keep you from being you is a good way to go (the people you hear don’t speak for the entire people on earth anyway); being bold enough to make your own mistakes is even better. I wish them the best.
