Her basic instinct: Sharon Stone shaves off the years in short white dress (PHOTOS)

Not many women can get away with wearing white mini-dresses in their mid-fifties, but not many women are as ageless as Sharon Stone.

The actress looked fantastic in a white V-necked dress that flashed plenty of leg as she arrived at a charity function in Los Angeles’ AT&T Center on Thursday.

The way the 55-year old had pulled her blonde hair back in to a ponytail was similar to how she was styled in 1992’s Basic Instinct, and the similarities didn’t end there.

Just like in the film, in which she played crime novelist turned serial killer Catherine Tramell, Sharon wore a white outfit that showed off her long, toned legs.

Famously in the film, Sharon’s character crosses and uncrosses her legs while she is being interrogated, but there was no improper behaviour as she mingled with the other famous faces at the Evening with a View to Benefit A Better LA.

Sharon accessorised her classic outfit with nude sandals, a pair of stunning diamond earrings and a simple white clutch bag.

She kept her make-up neutral and classic, which accentuated her natural beauty.

Sharon has said in the past that she would never have surgery. Rather, she adopts a philosophical approach to getting older.

‘I’m not afraid of ageing,’ she told The Mirror. ‘I just think, “Hey, I might as well just go with it.” Like me or don’t like me – and if you don’t like me, then pardon me, but f— off!’

As well as playing mum to her three adopted sons, Roan Joseph, 12, Laird Vonne, seven, and Quinn Kelly, six, the Oscar nominee has a busy year ahead.

She will be on screens as a dermatologist who hires a male escort in this year’s Fading Gigolo, starring and directed by John Turturro.

Sharon has several other films due out this year, including the drama Lovelace starring Amanda Seyfried, the Skype film Mother’s Day with Susan Sarandon, and the drama comedy Gods Behaving Badly with Christopher Walken.
