Four farmers,  Mohammed Aminu, 25, Ibrahim Sale, 35, Usman Saraki, 30, and Dantala Doma, 25, have been arrested for beheading a boy in Niger State.

They were arraigned before a Minna Magistrate Court today on three counts of criminal conspiracy, abduction and culpable homicide.

According to the Police Prosecutor, Insp. Hassan Zakari, the first accused, Mohammed, a resident of Amale village in Paikoro local government in Niger State, lured one Ishaya Zagi and handed him over to the three others.

He said the other three who took the boy to Lashi village in Shiroro Local Government, beheaded him and buried his remains in a shallow grave.

The prosecutor said some two other persons (names withheld), now at large, requested the head for the purpose of money rituals.

He said the offences contravened sections 274, 97 and 221 of the penal code law respectively.

When the charges were read to the accused, they pleaded guilty.

In his ruling, the Magistrate Hamidu Bima ordered that a bench warrant be issued on the two persons who requested the head.

Bima adjourned the case to July 7.
