Two persons have been killed as a result of a diesel truck explosion at Bakin-dutse in FuntuaLocal Government Area of Katsina State.

The incident was confirmed by the  FRSC Unit Commander in Funtua, Rabiu Usman and he also gave the  registration number of the tanker as, XA 224 FTA.

It was gathered from witnesses that the two persons were the driver of the truck and a welder.

Premium Times reports:

They said the truck was loaded with diesel, but had one of its compartments broken down and a welder was called to repair it.
“While the welder was fixing the compartment, the truck burst into flames and both the driver and the welder sustained severe burns and were rushed to the hospital where they died,” a witness said.
Mr. Usman advised truck drivers to always be cautious with the vehicles, especially when they were loaded with fuel.
