A young lady was yesterday found at Tudun Wada in the Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau. The body was discovered in the early hours of the morning without eyes and tongue with signified it was the handiwork of ritual killers.
The victim who could not be identified was said to have been neatly dressed in a T-shirt and jeans and had no visible injury marks on her body. Residents of the area woke up to find the body by the river-side.
Residents believe she must have been strangled by attackers who took advantage of the late-night leisure spots in the area to stalk and attack unsuspecting victims.
The police public relations officer, Adigun Salau confirmed the incident saying investigations are currently ongoing.
A resident of the area, Rev. Joseph Bot of the Plateau Peace Movement International reportedly expressed shock over the incident and advised people to be careful of their movements and not keep late-nights to avoid a repeat of such occurrences.
He said, “We have a lot of drinking joints in the area. I have a strong feeling that the crises in Jos has given birth to a lot of hatred, poverty and lack of trust among the people. I notice that a lot of young ladies stay late in these drinking joints, a trend which is dangerous. I wonder whether they have parents.
