Hospital under construction by Gov Oshiomhole collapses in Benin, workers trapped

Tragedy struck in Benin, the Edo State capital today Monday, June4, as a building being constructed by the State government collapsed leaving some labourers and construction workers trapped underneath. So far six workers have been rescued but many more remain trapped.

The Central hospital, which is being built on Sapele Road in Benin-City is frequently touted by the Adams Oshiomhole administration as an evidence that the taxes of the Edo people are “working.”

Officers from the police, army, Red Cross and NEMA are already on the scene trying to rescue more people and clear the debris.
