In sad news, three teenagers -two boys and a girl, aged 15, seven and nine – met with untimely death after being crushed by a collapsed building, located along Ashimota Street in Benin, during the weekend.

According to reports, the children had gone to the building on Friday to repair a bicycle when a section of the building collapsed and killed them instantly.

The male victims, identified as Junior and Martins, were the children of a sports chief in the state, while the girl was a house help.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Command, Noble Uwoh, said the incident was brought to notice of the police by the landlord of the building.

Uwoh, however, insisted that although two of the victims were of the same parents, the identities of their parent were unknown at the time of filing in the report.

“Two males and one female died; one 15, one nine, one seven.

“There are two people of the same parents.

“But the details of their father is not well known to me,” he said.
