How soldiers beat my husband to death in Ogun – Wife (WATCH)

Glory Fagbayibi, wife of the man alleged to have been beaten to death by soldiers has recounted the events that transpired.

On Saturday it was reported that soldiers attached to the 174 Battalion, Ikorodu beat up one Adeola Oyekan in Ogijo area of Ikorodu, Lagos on the instructions of his landlady and her son over his alleged inability to pay his rent.

However, the spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Sani Usman has denied that its men were involved in beating up the deceased.

The incident happened at 10 Prince Jamiu Oyebade Street, near Car Wash bus stop in Ogijo, Ogun State.

But speaking with online news medium, Sahara Reporters, wife of the deceased, Glory narrated how her husband was maltreated and beating by the soldiers, and died 15 days after the incident,

Glory, who spoke in the Yoruba language said the soldiers pummeled her husband moments after seeing him. She said they beat him to the point where he could no longer speak.

She added that the landlady while speaking with the soldiers said she wanted them to break her late husband’s arms and legs for disrespecting her.

She said her husband was flogged, his phone was seized and N84000 was taken from him.
