A Dutch man is currently hailed as Europe’s most virile man as a result of his charity work – donating sperm to childless women which has made him the father of 98 children.

Ed Houben who started as a sperm donor in 2002 but says he now donates the ‘natural way God intended’.

Houben was a virgin until age 34 is now thought to be the most profitable sperm donor in the world.

Daily Mail reports:

He helps lesbian couples, single women and heterosexual couples with fertility problems to have children free of charge.

And, rather than using turkey basters or syringes, he gets women pregnant the old-fashioned way – which, he tells the BBC – has a ‘much better chance of conception’.

He adds: ‘People probably think “oh, he has sex without responsibility”, but usually I’m the only person people can talk to if it doesn’t work’.

His latest child, number 98, is Madita. Her mother is a 28-year-old nursery nurse, who explains she simply never found the right man.

Desperate for a child, she began to look for a sperm donor such as Mr Houben.

And the sex? She explains they got to know each other beforehand.

For couples where there are husbands in tow, he explains: ‘They are beyond these feelings of “ooh there’s a stranger sleeping with my wife”.’

He also keeps a list of mothers and children to try and reduce the risk of any mix-ups or interbreeding in the future.

‘If, later on, one of my children meets someone who doesn’t know who his natural father is, he can consult this list,’ he says.

He has sown his seed around the globe but usually waits for women to come to him these days at his home in Maastricht, although he still makes exceptions if his partners are entering a particularly fertile period. Provided they pay his travelling expenses and accommodation.

His ‘family’ lives in cities like Berlin – three children – and in Holland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, France and even New Zealand.

He began donating sperm to local clinics. Then he found there was a market for procreation the natural way and he has never looked back.

Spermaspender.de. in Germany is one of the websites he uses to connect with childless women desperate to conceive.

They know Mr Houben has a good pedigree; he gives 80 per cent of the females he has sex with a child.

All his partners must submit medical records showing they are disease and drug free while he reciprocates.

Included in his paperwork is a semen analysis known as a ‘spermiogram’ that shows he is the real deal a sperm count of less than 20 million shows the potential donor is ‘not a good prospect.’

The prospects are increased for sperm counts of 80 to 100 million.

Mr Houben’s count is 100 million. ‘I don’t fire blanks!’  he joked.

Sperm banks generally charge around four to five thousand pounds for insemination. Mr Houben does it for free.

He used to get his partners to sign documents waiving legal claims to child support, but after being advised by a lawyer it wouldn’t hold up in court, he no relies on ‘good faith’.

‘If all the mothers decided to sue him for maintenance he would be paying them off for the rest of this life, and the next,’ said one German family lawyer.
