Burna boy is underrated – Jidenna (WATCH)

Classic Man Jidenna has revealed that he grew up listening to the likes of music legend King Sunny Ade.

The Nigerian-American star Jidenna Theodore Mobisson who is in the country for a homecoming tour also said Nigerian artistes are doing great things on the international scene.

Speaking to Wazobia TV, Jidenna said he was influenced as a child by high-life music.

“I grew up listening to people like Celestine Ukwu, Cardinal Rex Lawson, and Sunny Ade. These were the people that influenced me the most when I was a child.”

Speaking further on Nigerian artistes that he loves, the musician said he believes rapper Burna Boy is underrated.

“One guy I think is underrated is Burna Boy. I’d just like to see him crossover into the US and into the world.

“I just think his character is funny. He’s a funny man. I really like his style and his sound is different. He has a flavour that I like.”

Speaking on what defines a ‘Classic Man’, the musician said it’s character and not fashion. He also said it’s about dignity and how a man carries himself.

Jidenna also admitted that he would love to do collaborations with Nigerian musicians such as Tiwa Savage, Davido, Wizkid and others.
