One of the girls who escaped being  abducted by Boko Haram insurgents recounted her ordeal on witnessing the abduction and how she managed to escape.

In a one-minute video, the girl whose name and face was not revealed, explained that she escaped when she realised that something was amiss with the armed men who had come to ‘rescue’ them from the hostel that was when she decided to run for it, not minding the consequences of her disobedience.

She said:

“I was the only person who escaped from the school when I observed that the men were a bit harsh. I became suspicious, I ran and scaled a fence, then I climbed a tree close to the school and stayed there.” she continued

“One of the men followed me with a torchlight and asked me to return but I did not answer him,”  she said.
