I will proceed to Supreme Court – Nyesom Wike

Nyesom Wike's fate rests on the ruling of the Supreme Court | YNaija.com

Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has reacted to the ruling by the Court of Appeal dismissing his petition against the Rivers election petition tribunal, which nullified his election.

Shortly after the ruling on Wednesday, Wike took to his Facebook account to reveal that he would head to the Supreme court to contest the ruling of the Appeal Court.

Wike said he’s instructed his lawyers to appeal the judgment of the Court of Appeal which ordered fresh governorship election in the State.

In a statement issued by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, Wike ‘called on all his supporters and the people of Rivers State to remain calm as Justice will be done at the end of day’.

“He assured the people of the state that he will use all constitutional processes to protect the mandate they freely bestowed on him, hence his decision to approach the Supreme Court for further adjudication.

The governor said that he still remains the duly elected governor of Rivers State pending the determination of his appeal by the Supreme Court.”
