Former president of Nigeria, Ibrahim Babangida has announced that his days of seeking votes in presidential elections are over.

Babangida said this in Sokoto yesterday while inaugurating a Modern Agricultural Skills Acquisition Centre at Milgoma, Bodinga Local Government Area.

The former president said he intends to emulate the likes of Aliyu Wamakko in kick-starting the revival of agriculture in the region.

According to him: “If that is done, the region would have made tremendous breakthrough and boosted its economic strength.

“The stage is now for the likes of Wamakko,” he reportedly stated.

I want to be convinced that Wamakko is working based on what we have seen.

Babangida, who visited Second Republic President Shehu Shagari, was accompanied by AVM Hamza Abdullahi (rtd) and Hassan M. Jalo, among other personalities.

The centre is among the various projects executed by the state government and inaugurated by the former military leader across the state.
