Corruption investigation: Ex-governor of Imo arrested by EFCC

Ihedi Ohakim, a former Imo State governor, has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Ohakim, was picked up earlier today, Thursday, June 18, at his house in Asokoro, Abuja.

He was arrested after failing to honour an invitation to the EFCC office in Abuja on Wednesday, June 17.

The former governor was invited to answer questions on an ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption and embezzlement by his government.

According to Punch Newspapers, EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, has confirmed that Ohakim is in their custody.
