#InCaseYouMissedIt: Goldie, Sound Sultan and Weird MC appointed UN Peace Ambassadors

by Lekan Olanrewaju

Nigerian Musicians Sound Sultan, Goldie and Weird MC have been endorsed by the United Nations as Peace Ambassadors.
Their appointments were announced on March 23, 2012 during a ceremony where they were presented with ambassador for peace certificates.

Ambassadors for Peace are committed to working beyond race, religion and nationality and accept a global mission, the scope of which extends beyond the interest of a particular nation.

They also represent a global consciousness and their activities reflect a global assignment serving the common good.

The Youth Ambassadors Peace project is aimed at promoting and supporting the role of young people in peace building activities that contribute to living together in dignity through a network of specifically trained young people who strengthen the presence and promote the values of the council of Europe in conflict affected areas and communities.

Congratulations and best wishes to the newly appointed ambassadors!
