Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State, yesterday dissolved the 17-man strong Caretaker Committee of the local government councils in the state.

The development was disclosed yesterday by the  Commissioner for Information and Communication, Pastor Yiljap Abraham, at a press briefing.

Abraham reportedly said that the move was “part of measures towards ensuring a free and fair local government election, and to give room for level playing ground come December 17.”

He said the Governor appreciates the committee chairmen for the roles they played in ensuring good governance, adding that the elections would be conducted in all the 17 Local Government Councils in the State.
