Panic has broken out in Bayelsa State today after the collapse of the bridge linking the Igbogene and Okoloibiri communities in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The incident has been confirmed by the State Commander of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), Vincent Jack, who said that the agency had commenced rescue efforts.

Mr. Jack urged all who plied the road to find alternative routes and he also gave the assurance that his men had been deployed to divert traffic from the damaged area to prevent further incident.
