Unlike penultimate weekend, last weekend was eventful, entertainment-wise.

We were spoilt for choice with celebrity stories and events; and these were the best of them.

  1. Iyanya’s all white lavish birthday party

Super star Iyanya celebrated his birthday in a white-themed party on Saturday, October 31 at Tickle Bay Lekki.

As expected the party which was strictly by invitation had a solid celebrity guest list which included 2face Idibia, Seyi Law, and many others.

 

2. Ubi Franklin and Lilian Esoro’s elegant marriage ‘festival’

The new couple stole the headlines all weekend as they got joined in holy matrimony in style.

The wedding festivities kicked off 2 weeks ago when the couple got legally bound under the laws of the land at the federal marriage registry Ikoyi followed up by a traditional wedding on Friday, November 30.

The Triple MG CEO and the Tinsel actress finally sealed the marriage with an elaborate white wedding and a celebrity packed reception on Sunday, November 1.

 

3. Jay Z and Beyonce’s ‘Coming to America’ Halloween Costumes

Of course when Jay and Bey step out, they always leave us talking.

They didn’t however disappoint as they attended a private Halloween party in New York on Saturday.

The music mogul and his wife came through in an inspired ‘Coming to America’ outfit. Jay Z dressed up as Prince Akeem of Zamunda (Played by legendary comic and actor Eddie Murphy) while Beyonce came in an African inspired costume as Prince Akeem’s Mum; Queen Aoleon played by (Jamaican American actress Madge Sinclair).

 

4. Cassper Nyovest’s record breaking feat

South African rapper; Cassper Nyovest added another feather to his cap on Saturday as he became the first local act to fill up the biggest event arena in Johannesburg –The Dome.

The 25 year old lyricist shamed critics as he single handedly performed to the 20,000 crowd.

 

5. Di Carprio and his Swedish Doppelganger

The ladies wouldn’t get off the internet, when pictures emerged of a 21 year old Swedish bartender who looks like a younger version of the famous Hollywood actor, Leonardo Di Carprio.

Konrad Annerud the doppelganger was quoted saying he found it annoying sometimes when people called me ‘Leo’
