A Resident Electoral Commissioner, has alleged that certain ICT experts and some desperate politicians have colluded to rig the forthcoming general elections.

The REC in question, Mike Igini, who is in charge of Edo state, claims that the afformentioned groups have connived to truncate the efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct credible elections in the country.

He revealed that the mode of operation of the ICT experts and the politicians is by cloning and purchasing permanent voters cards (PVCs).

Igini made the disclosure while reacting to the arrest of seven people who were allegedly involved in the purchase of PVCs from market woman, at the New Benin Market, Benin City.

The suspects were arrested by the police during an attempt to purchase PVCs from some illiterate market women for N5,000-N10,000.
