Monday

The CEO of Kennis Music and Primetime Africa, Mr Kenny Ogungbe is releasing his own music album. The music mogul featured in Eedris Abdulkareem’s Calabar Girl song and did a verse on Goldie’s yet-to-be-released album. His own album will be out before the end of the year.

Goodluck Jonathan was officially declared the winner of Saturday, April 16, 2011 presidential election. He won 22.5 million votes, around 57 percent of votes cast.

Tuesday

D’Banj and Don Jazzy joined the exclusive league of Bentley owners. The duo just added the posh rides to their garage making them the first showbiz stars to own the prestigious autos which is said to cost between N25m to N35m.

Ex-soccer star, John Fashanu took another plunge into matrimony. The choice of the former footballer turned businessman this time around is Mrs Abigail Igwe, a legal practitioner and mother of ex-beauty queen, Adaeze Igwe. Sources reveal thet the two legally married at an Abuja marriage registry not too long ago after dating quietly for a while. Sources disclosed that they made the decision to be husband and wife with their children consenting to the move.

Wednesday

The late CD John was buried at Atan Cemetery Akoka, Yaba. Alibaba, Desmond Elliot, Tee A, Princess, Klint Da Drunk and many of his former colleagues were in attendance. May his soul continue to rest in peace.

Thursday

CBN governor, Lamido Sanusi, was listed among Time’s 100 Most Influential People.

Willow Smith has been invited to perform at the White House. She will perform at the White House on April 25th for the 133rd Annual White House Easter Egg Roll in front of 30,000 invited guests.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Ashley Nwosu died today. The actor died after spending a few weeks in the hospital battling severe liver problem.

Friday

Otunba Ayodele Soyode, the third daughter of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo died. She died on Sunday April 10 2011 at LUTH, Idiaraba, Lagos after a protracted battle with cancer. Mrs Soyode, a lawyer, was 66 years old.

A strange fire struck the Biodun Close, off Henry Adefowope Street, Awuse Estate, Opebi-Lagos residence of the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and Founder of the Latter-Rain Assembly, Pastor Babatunde Bakare. It was gathered that the fire which completely razed the top floor of the duplex started at about 1.20 pm yesterday and lasted for about 3.45 minutes as fire fighters battled to contain it.

Saturday

Kelly Rowland’s new single, ‘Motivation’ featuring Lil Wayne, debuted at  Number 55 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This is Kelly’s highest debut as a solo artist.

Manchester United moved a step closer to winning the EPL as Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez scored an 85th minute winner in their game against Everton.

Sunday
