‘Buhari has not sidelined the South East in any way’

The All Progressive Congress, APC in Abia state has rubbished claims that President Buhari has marginalized the Igbo race.

A chieftain of the party, Ephraim Iroakazi, while speaking with journalists in Umuahia, stated that Buhari has given the Igbos what is due to them.

He further noted that the Igbos have the opportunity to benefit from the government instead of constantly crying about marginalization.

Iroakazi said the cries about marginalization has been existent for several years now, noting that even during the Shagari administration when an Igbo was the vice-president, the Igbos still claimed to be marginalized.

He advised Igbos to properly align themselves to be relevant through studying the political terrain instead of crying about being marginalized.

“President Buhari has not marginalized the South East zone in any way. He is not in office to find job for the boys but to put things in order. He came in at a time things are very bad and he is taking his time to rebuild.

“Buhari has not side-lined the South East in any way. That statement is defeatist. Even right from the Shagari era Ndigbo had always shouted of marginalization.

“I think it is time Ndigbo should think of what they would get in politics and out of politics by calculating well before choice of the political parties before election rather crying fowl after elections.

“Buhari has not marginalized the South East. He got ministers from every state, the South East states inclusive,” he said.
