Former Governor of Rivers State, now Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, on Thursday, said that his administration did everything, including fasting and praying, to get former President Goodluck Jonathan to implement United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Report on Ogoni.
The former Governor made this known during the flag-off ceremony of the Ogoni land clean-up by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Amaechi said, “We did everything possible as a sitting government to get our brother and our leader, the former President to implement the UNEP report, everything.”
“I mean everything including going to church to pray but the UNEP report was not implemented. There is no way the cleanup exercise will not create jobs. The micro economics in Ogoni land will change.”
