“Jonathan’s administration handed over Nigeria to Boko Haram” – Buhari Support Organisation

by James Sambo

The Buhari Support Organisation has reacted to the statement of the spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, who said that half of the country would have been taken over by Boko Haram, if not for President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to the support group of Buhari, the president literally handed over Nigeria to Boko Haram.

A statement released on Tuesday, January 20, by the Directorate of Media and Information Management Directorate of the BSO, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, said: “It is the Jonathan administration that handed over Nigeria to Boko Haram when Mr. President admitted publicly his strategy of dealing with Boko Haram at its infancy was one of treating them with kid’s glove.”

“This singular miss-judgment of strategy made him lose valuable time to tackle the insurgency most appropriately. When the Chibok girl’s saga erupted, it took the government weeks to come to terms with the reality.”

“Handlers of Mr. President such as Mr. Olisa Metuah, Doyin Okupe and Reuben Abati were always busy chasing shadows, calling the APC all sorts of names as the people sponsoring Boko Haram while available global intelligence pointed in the direction of Al-Qaeda with the radicalization of these home grown insurgents,” the statement added.

Furthermore, Maduekwe said the President’s body language emboldened terrorism, citing as an example, his comments after the 2010 Independence Day Bomb blast, where he stated that the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta was not responsible for the bomb blast.
