Following the decision of the Independent National Electoral Committee (INEC) to issue a Certificate of Return to millionaire businessman, Uche Ogah, as the governor of Abia state, hundreds of people in Umuahia, the state capital, have blocked the Government House.
According to a source who spoke to YNaija, Okezie Ikpeazu, the ousted Governor of the state was prevented from gaining access to the government house by supporters of the governor-elect, Ogah.
The source said Ogah, who is believed to be on his way back to Umuahia from Abuja, had informed his supporters that he would receive the Certificate of Return before travelling to Abuja.
His supporters, on hearing news that Ogah had received the certificate, converged at the government house, blocking movement into the premises.
However, Ikpeazu’s supporters – mostly from his native Ngwa land – are also converging at the entrance of the governors house.
