Sin of loyalty: Kano APC Chairman suspended, replaced

The Kano state executive committee of the All Progressives Congress has suspended party chairman, Umar Doguwa.

Doguwa was reportedly suspended for being loyal to former Kano governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Party leaders including Ibrahim Karaye, chairman of Kano state’s 44 local governments, were among the participants at the meeting where Doguwa’s suspension was announced.

The Chairman’s suspension was announced by the Party Secretary, Abbas Sani Abbas, who also disclosed that Abdullahi Abbas, a former commissioner for the environment, was to replace Doguwa as acting chairman.

During the meeting, the Kano APC also pledged loyalty to incumbent Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.

Abbas revealed that Doguwa was suspended for choosing to remain loyal to Kwankwaso, rather than embrace Ganduje.

Karaye said all the 44 local government chairmen endorsed the suspension of the APC Chairman while reiterating their “full loyalty” to Ganduje.
