H.A.M., the first official single from Kanye West and Jay-Z’s much anticipated collaborative album, ‘Watch The Throne’, debuted online on Tuesday.
On the first verse, ‘Ye drops aggressive and explicit lyrics on a synth-heavy instrumental produced by fast-rising 19 year-old maverick, Lex Luger (Rick Ross’ B.M.F., Wacka Flocka Flame’s Hard In Da Paint and Kanye’s See Me Now).
Rap heavyweight Jay-Z is not one to be upstaged, and he brings his cavalry on the second verse which is strung to the first by a simple hook in which Kanye repeats the phrase ‘Hard As a Motherf****r’. Apparently, that’s what the acronymous title stands for.
Yanni-esque operatic choral samples and a piano accompaniment complete the audio drama. ‘Watch The Throne’ is billed for release in March, 2011.
